November Trip to Utah

In November, Sophie and I made another trip to Utah. My brother Nick and his wife were sealed in the Salt Lake temple on November 11th, which was their one year anniversary. It was a very special day, and I was so grateful that I was able to be there with them. They also had Ashley's girls, Ashtyn and Avery sealed to them. It was very special seeing the girls in white kneeling at the alter with Nick and Ashley. We are so happy for them and grateful that they were able to be sealed together as an eternal family. I am truly grateful for the blessings of the temple in my life. It's been almost one year since we had Sophie sealed to us, and I am truly grateful that our family is forever.

We had a fun time while we were in Utah. We spent the first two days with Jon's parents. Sophie got to play with some of her cousins and she had a great time playing with Papa. She loved playing Papa's piano with him. She kept interrupting while Papa was giving piano lessons to some of her cousins. Maybe we'll have to let Sophie take piano lessons when she's older. If we are lucky enough, maybe we'll live close enough to Papa Harper, that he can teach Sophie. I suppose we'll have to wait and see what the future holds.

We went up to my parent's house on the 11th, before Nick and Ashley's sealing, and we spent the rest of our trip with them. Uncle Scott and Aunt Nicole stayed the weekend, and Sophie had a blast playing with Uncle Scott. Scott put Sophie inside his bag and gave her a ride like she was at an amusement park. She laughed so hard, she thought it was so fun. Scottie says he doesn't like kids, but he can't fool us. He sure loves Sophie!

Sophie had fun playing with the toys at Papa and Maemi's. Nicole found this ironing board at a garage sale, and Sophie had fun pretending like she was ironing. I am truly amazed at how well she pretends. She is growing up too quickly and is learning so much. She is definitely not my baby anymore.

Concentrating on her ironing.

When I stay at my parent's house, Sophie sleeps upstairs in the study and I sleep downstairs, so grandma and grandpa get up with Sophie in the morning, so that I can sleep in. I love it, it's truly a vacation. Anyway, one morning my mom got Sophie all ready and when I came upstairs, Maemi was curling Sophie's hair. It was the first time her hair had ever been curled. She didn't hold perfectly still, but she did really well. She looked so pretty when Maemi was finished. Maemi is Sophie's word for grandma. My mom loves it so much, she wants to always be called Maemi instead of being called grandma.

The most beautiful little girl!
